![]() DESIGN
My love for design was inspired at a young age by a love for technology. My folks invested in a Texas Instruments computer when I was in 4th grade on which I learned to run scripts in BASIC, manage files in DOS, and even use the old style modem that you laid your phone on to transfer data. I'm still not sure if I ever made connection, but the idea of interacting with this 'box' and being able to do so much from my living room was thrilling to me. Later in life I discovered that I really enjoyed creating art in every medium. Graphic design was the perfect marriage of creating art and technology. I've been designing now for over 15 years and still love it! Technology has certainly advanced since the days of my old Texas Instruments. I am joined at the hip with my apple hardware and am frequently lost without being in range of a wifi hotspot. I spend my spare moments attempting to keep up with social media trends, design applications, coding languages and any other cool thing that helps people connect. |
![]() PERSONALLY Currently, my time is split between living in a small town in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State called Cle Elum and visiting my husband in Salt Lake City, UT. My work as a full time telecommuting graphic designer allows for some flexibility in my location. My husband and I moved to Cle Elum almost two years ago from Kirkland, WA where my husband accepted a position as Chef de Cuisine at Suncadia. This was a great adventure while it lasted, however due to economic reasons and the strain on the hospitality industry he was laid off. In July, 2009 he accepted his dream job as Executive Chef in the new InterMountain Park City Medical Center in Park City, Utah. I have two wonderful stepdaughters (Samantha, 13 and Katie, 12), two dogs (Lulu, 2, a shephard-whippet mix, and Bella, 5 months, a yellow lab), and one cat (Mama Kitty, himalayan-Siamese). Traveling between Seattle and Salt Lake City, the girls and the pets all keep me very entertained and on my toes! |
